Duette Loop is a great long gravel ride. The dirt roads can get you 20 plus miles of great smooth riding. There are only a couple days where riding is not possible due to hunters doing their thang harvesting souls, but otherwise, you can get in there and see lots of beautiful scenery and peddle your heart out. The links below will take you to a couple different pages, and my personal 25 mile ride is also included. For my ride, you will have to exit the park, then ride on the road for about a mile, then re-enter the park, so gate hopping may happen twice if they are locked. Pictures of this ride are below the link.

Primitive tent camping at Duette Preserve is available Friday and Saturday nights during non-hunt weekends. The campsite features a large open grass area with bathroom on site. No running water or power available on site.

CAMPING FEES & REGISTRATION

Camping fees: $20 a night per site (up to six people per site) + 7% sales tax + 5% Tourist tax = $22.40/night. Cash or check only. No credit cards.

Camping registration: You must come to the Duette Preserve Check Station on that Saturday between the times of 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. to pay for your camping.

See Florida like a Natiive, on a bicycle!

I plan and lead cycling adventures around the state of Florida. I am originally from Lakeland and now live in the Tampa Bay area. I have a passion for pushing my limits and traveling both, as a minimalist, but I also enjoy staying in luxury and style. I started cycling in 2018 after spinal fusion took my running away and found out that I see way more interesting things along longer routes. This led me to go further and further and extend my range with time. I do both on and off-road bikepacking trips. My MLK Jr weekend trip in Jan 2020 was my farthest ride (189 mi) in one day. Come along for the next one and make memories that last a lifetime.
